Twice in as many days...whatever next?
Right then folks and folkettes, a good evenings work in the hellhole was done, well i think it was anyways...
A Screaming Sander At The Speed Of A Slug, A Cloud Of Wood Dust,
And A Hearty 'I Need A Coffee'...
Last time,...well yesterdays update actually, we left this thing all lumpy and rough but after some slightly careful work with an orbital sander
Black and Decker detail, interchangable head mouse type
A few different diameter sanding drums
attached to power drill, loud screaming high-rev type
And a sanding block
Rubber, black, slightly curved, smoothing out screwups, for the use of
We finally ended up with this...

Curving in mostly the right directions there so now to the join between the top and bottom of the fuselage.
Well i intended to put a fair step on this to assist joining for the cast parts so, taking the bottom off, I ran the sander round the edge, essentially reducing it's outer edge by a few millimeters and wrapping it in some thin clear film.
The type that gets used to wrap pallets of boxes in...sorta heat shrink stuff
Then placed back on and liberally applied some putty, the quick setting car repair type and left to cure.
When this had cured, the bottom was once more removed, the clear film removed and discarded...
Then replaced and the join sanded flush.
And when the bottom was removed again, one small step whith which to sit the bottom sugly into.
Same process repeated on the rest of the top/bottom join.
Wrap...
Attach...
Putty up...
Sand down flush...
Remove bottom, see step produced
Now of course this isn't the be all and end all of the step situation but it's a start and there will be more clearing up and sorting as we go on.
But for now that be your lot troops and troopettes.
Right now the fuselage has to have it's final filling, shaping and smoothing 'fore i apply a couple of coats of epoxy resin the seal and surface and then we into the other bits...oh the fun we have.
Go easy you merry mob!
